Fort Worth has a rich and varied history that rivals any city in the U.S. From its humble beginnings as a military outpost to the growth years centered around banking and the cattle industry, Cowtown's most recent economic successes have been rooted in aerospace and energy. The city is also host to a Nationally recognized university, one of the country's finest cultural/museum districts, and a thriving downtown core. The following group of postcards shows Fort Worth from 1900 to 1970. Many of the landmarks and buildings depicted in these cards are still standing which is a testament to the city's drive to preserve and cherish its history. This is Fort Worth!
