Historical Houston In Postcards

From its humble beginnings in 1836 to present day, no other city has embodied the "Can Do" spirit better than Houston.  It all started with the Allen brothers' vision of a real estate boon and then grew during the days of Jesse H. Jones, the completion of the Ship Channel, and seventeen railroads meeting the sea.  The legacy was cemented with oil and space exploration and we now find ourselves smack dab in the middle of the fourth largest city in the country!  We are proud to call the Bayou City home and through this page, we hope to share with you some of our local history through postcards of various types and vintages.  This is just one of the thousands of topics you can find on a postcard but it is one that we find especially appealing.
